In this fly tying tutorial, Signature Tyer Jack Arnot teaches us how to tie one of his modern dry fly patterns: Arnot's New Age Caddis. This is a fully synthetic caddis imitation that Jack designed to be effective as a single dry fly, or used to suspend a nymph in a dry dropper setup. One of the key elements to this fly is that it's fully synthetic construction allows light to pass through it, which is what happens with real life caddis. The trout are expecting to see light pass through it, and Jack's thinks they're even more likely to take this as a natural. Another cool element to this fly is the CDC wrapped post. This gives the fly an amazing ability to suspend weight, but also to stay stabilized in fast current.
