Photographer and Globetrotter – Stephan is a self made man, who is one of the few to call their passion a profession. Ever since he started to swing a flyrod “back in the day”, dreams emerged, of travelling the world, of catching the biggest and strongest fish out there. Today, Stephan has crossed quite a few off that bucket list. Always equipped with a camera tangling around his neck, he is able to captivate you with priceless memories from around the globe, whether it be a salmon in Russia, giant seatrout in Argentina, or leaping Tarpon in the Caribbean waters.
So far his destinations cover New Caledonia, New Zealand, Korea, Russia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Argentina, Iceland, Canada, Norway, Slovenia, Sweden, Croatia, Bosnia, Austria, Denmark, Singapore, Indonesia, Papua, Nicaragua, Spain, Costa Rica, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands and more, giving Stephan his reputation as a highly recommended and knowledgeable sportfishing ambassador in Central Europe. Furthermore he has collected 6 seasons of experience as a guide for Sea run & Resident Brown trout in the Las Buitreras Lodge in Southern Patagonia, Argentina, where he served as lodge manager in 2011/12, being the youngest in Gallegos history. Despite his young age he is one of the foremost on-location destination scouts – lately involved in the exploration of “Location GTX”. His extensive knowledge about both the practical and the theoretical aspects of fly fishing make him an irreplaceable member of the team.
The wide range of species and his professional approach towards fishing have no space left for substandard missions. By creating “The Fly Fishing Nation” in 2006 and the beta version in 2010 he has taken this priority to a new level and found a network of young and ambitious flyfishers to represent their passion in modern media.
