Sean Thomas is a passionate fly fisherman and fly tyer from South Wales, United Kingdom. His love of fishing began nearly thirty years ago, chasing wild brown trout on his local rivers. A few years later, he discovered fly tying — a craft that has since become a major part of his life and identity.

Today, Sean enjoys targeting a wide range of species, from wild brown trout and grayling across the UK’s rivers to the remote Llyns of Wales. He’s also drawn to the saltwater scene, particularly bass on the fly. However, his greatest passion lies in the nighttime pursuit of sea trout (sewin) — a challenge he describes as deeply addictive, combining mystery, patience, and excitement.

Sean’s skill as a tyer has earned him recognition on the International Tyers Row at the British Fly Fair International, and he continues to demonstrate and share his techniques at fly fishing events around the country. He is also a regular contributor to leading publications, including The Fly Fishing Journal.

Dedicated to passing on his knowledge, Sean recently achieved his Level 1 Coaching Certification through 1st4sport and the Angling Trust, and is now working towards Level 2 with the goal of becoming a full-time fly-fishing guide.
