Sarah Rønholt lives beside the river Kalix in Swedish Lapland, where the salmon run marks the turning of the season and the sound of moving water rarely leaves her.
She came to these northern rivers by way of the road — spending months living from an old jeep along the rivers of Jutland, fishing rods rigged, camera always within reach. That time taught her to read light, to sit with uncertainty, and to understand that the moments worth capturing — whether at the end of a fly line or through a lens — rarely announce themselves.
Photography and fly fishing occupy the same place in Sarah. Both demand presence. Both reward stillness. She works in nature and wildlife, drawn to the interplay of natural light and moving water — but it is the people of fly fishing who interest her most. This is a sport where genuine feeling shows on a person's face, and that is where the most honest photographs live.
