Peter Moir is the creative mind behind Alchemy Fly Tying. His passion for fly fishing began more than 30 years ago in and around Dundee, on Scotland’s East Coast, where he was introduced to the art of Loch-style trout fishing. Encouraged by a close friend and mentor, Peter discovered the intricate and imaginative world of fly tying — a pursuit that quickly became a lifelong passion.
Specialising in UK stillwater trout and wild brown trout fishing, Peter designs and ties flies for both river and loch-style angling. Over the years, his patterns have been used by some of the UK’s top competitive anglers — at home and on the international stage — with great success.
Through Alchemy Fly Tying (AFT), Peter combines traditional patterns and techniques with a modern creative twist. He believes that the finest results come from the best materials, thoughtful design, and a genuine love of the craft — ensuring every pattern has earned its place in the angler’s fly box, whether for competition or pleasure.
