Jack Westbury, 25, has been fishing since the age of five, starting out coarse fishing on the River Trent with his grandad before discovering fly fishing at thirteen and never looking back.
Living in Derbyshire, Jack spends much of his time on the banks of the Derwent, Dove, Wye and Lathkill, as well as fishing stillwater venues such as Carsington, Ladybower and Press Manor.
Fly fishing and fly tying are his greatest passions, and most evenings find him at the vice preparing patterns for his next trip. Jack began tying at fourteen after receiving a fly-tying kit for Christmas, with Davie McPhail's videos inspiring him to improve. Later, attending the Fly Dressers' Guild classes at Eastwood helped refine his skill and further develop his love for the craft. In recent years he has had the privilege of tying at events such as the British Fly Fair and the Irish Fly Fair.
