Frank Brassard

My name is Frank Brassard. I live in a small town nestled deep in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada, where I fish primarily for bull trout, rainbow, cutthroat, grayling, and steelhead. Many of my home rivers run directly from nearby glaciers and are often challenging to access — but the effort, adventure, and discovery are what make fishing here so rewarding.

The long, cold Canadian winters bring their own rhythm. Once the rivers freeze over, I retreat to my tying room — a creative space where I spend countless hours crafting flies. For me, fly tying is every bit as fulfilling as fishing itself: it’s a vital part of the lifelong learning experience that defines fly fishing.
