Fly Tyer & Competition Tyer
Ravensburg, Germany • Dry-Fly & Bamboo Rod Specialist
Christian Kölle is originally from Ravensburg, near Lake Constance in southern Germany, where the Alps have stood at his doorstep since birth. He learned to fish at six years old on the Argen, one of the region's most beautiful pre-Alpine rivers, and went on to become a true all-round angler before a 2013 fly-fishing trip to Austria changed everything — his first fish on a dry fly left him, in his own words, infected with the fly-fishing virus.
Since 2014 Christian has tied his own flies, and today fishes 90% of the time with self-built bamboo rods, having developed a deep affection for vintage tackle. He favours dry-fly fishing for grayling and brown trout across rivers in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, including the Danube, Egau, Rot, Riß and Upper Argen, and turns to pike and catfish from a belly boat when the closed season calls — always insisting on earning his fish through skill alone.
A competitive fly tyer since 2017, Christian's success on the European circuit has carried him to trade shows including the EWF in Fürstenfeldbruck and Jagen & Fischen in Augsburg. Beyond the vice, he serves as an ambassador for brown trout conservation, building and refining self-designed incubation boxes with local fishing clubs to support native salmonid populations.
We are delighted to welcome Christian to the Fulling Mill Pro Team.
