Fly Fisher & Fly Tyer
West Midlands, England • Dry Fly & Wild River Specialist
Adam Price-Hunt's fly fishing life has been a journey of self-taught discovery, beginning as a young teen casting big dry flies into shaded pockets on the wild streams of Wales, hoping to tempt a small trout to the surface. Growing up in the urban West Midlands, he learned early to travel for his fishing — and within two hours in any direction lay the southern chalk streams, club waters in Derbyshire, and the lesser-trodden corners of Wales.
Wild fishing adventures up and down the British Isles make up the majority of his trips today. Adam fishes for pretty much all things finned — trout, grayling, and salmon chief among them — working through a wide range of disciplines across the season, from swinging tube flies on a double-hander to drifting nymphs for winter grayling. His true passion, however, lies up on the surface. Specifically, in the obsessive stalking of old, large trout that have grown wiser than the rest — sitting, waiting, and observing, often spending more time crouched in the undergrowth than standing in the water.
His fly tying followed the same self-taught path as his fishing: led by trial, error, and close observation rather than traditional pattern recipes. Adam ties flies built for the specific situations he has watched unfold on the water — and it is not uncommon for him to come straight home from a day on the river and walk directly to the tying desk.
We are delighted to welcome Adam to the Fulling Mill Pro Team.
