Philippe's Bass Fly Selection for Brittany is a comprehensive list of flies that fish well at the Bay of Morlaix, Roadstead of Brest and many other spots around the coast of Brittany. All of these Sea Bass fly patterns are great for fishing along shorelines and sight fishing in shallow water (low tide), in between oyster parks tables, shallow flats between islands, drop-offs on the edges of deeper chanels, in less than 2/3 meters of waters. Fish them on floating and intermediate lines on 7-8# rods.
The 'Deep Water' patterns are perfect for deeper marks, whether you're fishing on rocky drop-offs or sand/mud channels. They are best used when the tide turns and is faster on incoming or outgoing currents. They can also be fished above and along submurged structures like big rocks, wrecks, reefs (up to 6/7 meters of water), with fast intermediate and sink tips (250 to 350 grains) on 8-10# rods.
