Kieron Jenkins has been fishing at Chew Valley for over 15 years and has experienced some of the best fishing times at the lake. Chew is an excellent venue for the 'purist', it offers brilliant top of the water sport as well as catering for the lure enthusiast.
- Early season fishing at Chew Valley can be exceptional. A huge early season stocking usually gets the anglers excited and lures, blobs and boobies are often first choice for most. Large, colourful patterns tend to get the best reaction!
- As the season progresses through the end of April into May, buzzers and nymphs are extremely effective. Damsel and corixa are prominent, along with buzzers and these patterns can be fished slowly on a floater or midge tips.
- End of the season fishing at Chew Valley can be exceptional, fish rising and generally cruising close to the surface searching for food. A selection of nymphs, dries and lures are essential for success.
